Saša Mirković, violist, was born in Čačak in 1980.
He has completed his music education at the School for Music Talents in Ćuprija, studying under professors Petar Ivanović, Panta Velicković, Đerđ Zazrović,
Tomislav Milošević and Dejan Mlađenović. As a soloist, member of string quartet and member of the School Orchestra, he has participated on all important manifestations in Serbia (Bemus, Composers’ Review, The Joy of Playing Music…) and performed on concert tours abroad. He has won a large number of First and Special Prizes, among which stands out the First Prize at Talents for the 21st Century Competition in Slovakia, which gave him an opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Slovakian Chamber Orchestra. He enrolls at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in 1997, completing his undergraduate and postgraduate studies under Dejan Mlađenović. He is currently attending last year of his PhD studies.
Saša Mirković is active both as soloist and as a chamber musician, with a special affinity for contemporary artistic music. He has held a large number of recitals and chamber concerts in Serbia and abroad. As a soloist, ha has performed with ARTE Ensemble, Belgrade Chamber Orchestra Ljubica Marić, Belgrade String Orchestra Dušan Skovran, Schlesinger Chamber Orchestra, Serbian Military Symphony Orchestra Stanislav Binički, YSOSEE. For his performances of contemporary music, ha has received special awards.
His other engagements include position of the leader of viola section in the Ensemble for New Music, ARTE Ensemble, Norwegian Youth Orchestra (Elverum), German-Scandinavian Orchestra (Berlin), World Peace Orchestra (Stockholm), Belgrade String Orchestra Dušan Skovran and Belgrade Chamber Orchestra Ljubica Marić. He has also performed within quartets Contradance and Con trust.
During his concert career, he has performed in Serbia, Montenegro, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Switzerland, France, Germany, USA, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, Russia, Norway, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He is engaged as assistant professor at the Faculty of Philology and Arts in Kragujevac.
